Fashion Designer – Handcrafted Collections (Remote)

We’re looking for a passionate Fashion Designer who aligns with our mission, bringing creativity, vision, and hands-on expertise to our handcrafted collections.

Your Role:

As our Fashion Designer, you'll conceptualize, develop, and bring to life beautiful, timeless collections that embody LilyWilliam’s aesthetic: minimalistic yet soulful, sustainably crafted, and delicately embroidered by hand.

What You'll Do:

Conceptualize Designs:

  • Develop original designs inspired by LilyWilliam's core values: elegance, sustainability, and handcrafted beauty.
  • Create detailed sketches, mood boards, color stories, and embroidery concepts.

Collaborate & Create:

  • Work closely with our skilled embroidery artisans and tailoring team to translate designs from sketches to stunning reality.
  • Maintain strong communication with sourcing partners to ensure the selection of sustainable, high-quality materials.

Product Development:

  • Oversee prototyping and fitting sessions to ensure perfect silhouette, fit, and design execution.
  • Provide creative direction and technical support throughout the production cycle.

Trend & Market Research:

  • Stay updated with global fashion trends, sustainable fashion practices, and embroidery techniques to ensure our collections remain both contemporary and timeless.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure every product adheres to LilyWilliam's high standards of quality, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

Storytelling & Marketing:

  • Collaborate with our creative team to craft engaging narratives around collections, enhancing brand visibility and emotional connection.

We're Looking for Someone Who Has:

Education & Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, particularly focused on handcrafted, sustainable, or embroidered apparel.

Creative Vision:

  • Strong aesthetic sensibility, with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, minimalism, and detail-oriented design.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in sketching, illustration, and design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Knowledge of fabric, stitching techniques, pattern-making, and garment construction.

Passion for Sustainability:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for slow fashion, ethical practices, and sustainable materials.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit; someone who enjoys working closely with artisans, production teams, and marketing creatives.

Organization & Detail Orientation:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with meticulous attention to detail and deadlines.

Hands-On Approach:

  • Willingness to actively participate in prototyping, fittings, and production oversight, ensuring the final garment matches the original creative vision.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience or genuine interest in hand embroidery and traditional Indian textile crafts.
  • Previous experience with slow fashion brands or sustainable fashion initiatives.
  • A personal portfolio showcasing creative fashion work, particularly handcrafted or embroidered collections.
